This thatched heritage cottage was used as fishing cottage on the farm of the great Boer war General Johann Schoeman. General Schoeman’s home was situated on the hill in Meerhof. The cottage is furnished in African Colonial style using antiques from that period. The gardens are well kept and stocked with flowers through the year. Grass lawn for kids to play.

  • The north facing balcony over looking the garden allows for relaxation.
  • The Lounge has DSTV and seating for 4. The Old Union No 5 stove is lighted for heating in winter.
  • Two bedrooms are air conditioned.
  • Beds have top quality bedding, mozzie nets, dressing gowns and doors leading onto the balcony.
  • Kitchen is fully stocked to cater for 4 guests.
  • Bathroom has ‘tub’ surrounded with mirrors candles. Separate walk-in shower.
  • Secured parking and a private entrance.
